Going Back To My Hometown, Melaka!

It has been 1 year and 3 months since the first time I came to Tanjung Malim. On the 1st June 2013, I came here with my family to register as a new student in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris or well known as UPSI. It has been my dream to enter this university and luckily, my dream had turned into a reality. Just as any other new students, homesickness had always become a major problem. The same goes for me. Since it was my first time being away from home, I miss my family tremendously. To make matter worse, I do not know how to go back home by myself. During my first semester, my father who is working in Subang Jaya, Selangor picked me up and took me home. I know it had been hard for my father to go back and forth so on my second semester here, my friend and I tried to go back home by ourselves using public transports. I know that for students of UPSI who are living in the southern part of Malaysia, it is hard to go back as there is no bus provided here in Tanjung Malim's bus station. I hope by sharing my experience, it will be easier to go back home by public transports.

After asking from our classmates and seniors about the directions, we began our journey. First, we need to buy KTM tickets to go to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan which is situated in Bandar Tasek Selatan. In order to do so, we need to go to KTM Komuter Tanjung Malim Station. From our house in Taman Bahtera, we went there by taxi which costs us RM8. After queueing, we bought the tickets. The price of the ticket is RM 7.50.

45 minutes later, we arrived at KTM Komuter Rawang Station. According to our classmate, here, we need to exchange the train line. We climbed up the stairs and get into the train which was waiting on the first platform. Then, we continued our journey to Bandar Tasek Selatan. We also had the chance to enjoy the green scenery along the way.

The KTM here is more modern than the KTM at Tanjung Malim.

Two hours later, we finally arrived at Bandar Tasek Selatan. Again, we need to climb up a stair and cross the road by a junction to go to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). According to TBS's website, Terminal Bersepadu Selatan or Integrated Transport Terminal in Bandar Tasek Selatan (ITT) is opened to public on 1 January 2011. It has an easy connections to the KLIA Transit, KTM Commuters and RapidKL LRT rail networks.

People were queueing to buy bus tickets.
Then, we queued at the counter to buy bus tickets. I bought the earliest bus ticket to Alor Gajah for RM10. Here in TBS, customers have several options on how to buy their tickets. The first one is through their e-ticketing portal. Credit cards and web cash can be used through this medium. The second option is through the counters provided while the third one is by using their Self-Service Ticket Vending Machines. The second and third option can be used only at TBS as they are available there.
The bus ticket.
To kill time and boredom, we went for a window shopping at the boutiques and fashion outlets located within the terminal. There were also many kiosk and restaurants provided at the terminal. Half an hour before the bus departed, we go down the escalator to go to the departure hall. At the departure hall, we need to go and wait for the bus at the gate as stated on the ticket. When the bus arrived, we boarded on the bus and went home safely.

Spacious space and plenty of seats provided.
I really hope that this post will help many students in the near future. If you have any enquiries or questions, feel free to leave them in the comments box. I will try my best to answer them. Till then, good bye!

Meet My Best Friends!

"The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it."
- Hubert H. Humphrey
As stated in the quote above, friendship is the greatest gift of life. Friends could be anyone. It could be the person that we just met at the supermarket, the girl next door or even the person that we had hated the most. But, as for best friends, it is not the same. Best friends are the person that will do crazy things with you, send you a text message at 2 am regarding their partner and could laugh with you all day long. Best friend is not the person that you know the longest, it is the person that you know the most.

I do have best friends. In fact, I have two of them.

Her name is Assaidah Aisyah Bt Yusry and just like me, she is also 19 years old. Our friendship began on the first day of primary school. Feeling scared and clueless, I stepped into the class and quickly take a seat beside a fair looking girl. Minutes passed by and suddenly, the girl asked me, "what is your name?' At that time, I could not hear her clearly so I keep on asking her to repeat her question. After I managed to hear her question, I answered her and told her my name. She also did the same. I did not remember the rest of the conversation but I did remember that we got along with each other very well.

Until this day, she is still my best friend. We had shared many things together. We shared laughter, joy, pain and even tears together. During my ups and downs, she is the one who stayed and give moral support to me. She told me to be strong and carry on life even though it is hard. She is definitely a friend in need. Although we are far from each other now, we still exchange stories and contact each other regularly. I really hope that our friendship will last forever as I could not find her replacement and I cannot bear to lose her. She is one of a kind.

His name is Muhamad Noor Faiz Bin Mahad. I also knew him from primary school. I could not remember the exact moment we knew each other. All that I can remember is while we were in Standard 2, during the recess time, we always play a game together. As soon as the bell rang, we rushed to the canteen and eat. After eating, we went to the field and played the game. The game was inspired from a famous cartoon  during that time. We had never been bored of that game as we had a lot of fun. Good times! Aside from that, Faiz was in the same class with me since Standard 1 until Form 5. We had shared many good and bad times together.

He is now furthering his studies at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. We often contact each other and always spend our time together during the holidays. Just like Aisyah, Faiz also has his own speciality. Although I could be quite talkative while chatting with him, still, he entertains me and responded to all my questions that sometimes could be silly. The best part is he and I always share the same interest. For example, we both enjoyed watching My Kitchen Rules. The programme will be aired during night time so the next day when we met, we will be chatting non-stop about the programme. During high school, we were a die hard fan of My Kitchen Rules.

As time passes by, even though our age is increasing, our friendship is still the same. Aisyah, Faiz and me always spend time together and do everything. I wish that this friendship will never ends and it will last forever, in sha Allah.

We were at the karaoke room. We love to karaoke!

Easy Peasy Homemade Oreo Ice Cream

During a hot and scorching day, there is nothing better than eating ice cream. The sugary flavour and the coldness of an ice cream would definitely tantalize our taste buds and quench our thirst. Sounds good, right? So, without further a due, let's get started and learn how to make an Oreo flavoured ice cream.

For this recipe, you will be needing a tin of evaporated milk, an egg, a teaspoon of vanilla essence, 6 or 7 tablespoon of condensed milk, one tablespoon of ovalette and a packet of crushed Oreos.

After having all the ingredients needed, it is time to start and get moving. First, put all of the ingredients in a blender except for the Oreos. Blend everything until it is fluffy. It usually takes 15 to 20 minutes to do so. Next, pour all of the mixture in a closed container. After that, put in the crushed Oreos and stir the mixture well. Finally, close the container and let it freeze in the refrigerator for a while. After it had frozen, you can enjoy it with your family and friends. You can eat it by itself or with a bread.

The taste of this ice cream is really delicious and even though it is homemade, it tastes the same as the one we bought at store. You need to give this recipe a try. Trust me, you will not regret it. You can also refer to the original recipe here.

Favourite Youtube Channels

I am the type of person that will spend hours watching YouTube videos and will never get enough of it. That is how much I love YouTube. I really love how much information, ideas, tips and tricks that we can obtain from YouTube videos. Besides, through vlogs which is a blog in a video form, I can learn the culture and also lifestyle of people around the world. Basically, we can travel around the world by just using our laptops and smartphones. As I had always spend my time watching YouTube videos, for sure I had subscribed to many channels but today, I am going to share three of my favourite YouTube channels.

Since I really love Do It Yourself (DIY) stuffs, my top favourite YouTube channel is LaurDIY.  LaurDIY is a channel owned by a Canadian girl named Lauren Riihimaki. This channel is mainly focusing on everything that can be done as easy as ABC by yourself. There are plenty of  DIY tutorials and room decorations in Lauren's channel. So far, the video that I am liking the most is her DIY Notebooks and Pencil Cases. She is so creative and I am always amazed on how she managed to think of something outside the box. Besides DIY videos, she also have other types of videos such as make up tutorials, room decoration and even study tips.

LaurDIY's channel.
Moving on to my next favourite which is the bubzvlogz channel, this channel is owned by Lindy Tsang. Lindy Tsang, who is a Chinese-Irish woman has a husband named Tim and a son named Isaac. She also has two dogs named Chubby and Domo. Through her channel, she posted daily vlogs about her life with her husband, son and dogs. I love watching their daily life as it is very different from mine. Moreover, Lindy is a person who likes to give motivation to other people. Being a kind hearted person, she had carried out a campaign to help building schools for children in Laos. She designed her own shirt and the profit that she got from selling the shirt will be used to build a school. I respect her for her good deeds as nowadays, it is hard to find a kind person like Lindy.

Bubzvlogz's channel.
Last but not least, as for fashion, I like watching clothesencounters's videos. Although I am not that fond of fashion, the way Jenn Im styled her clothes was very appealing. Jenn Im, a 24 years old girl from Los Angeles had started her YouTube channel since 2010. I was interested to subscribe to her channel when I first watch her video series which is What Should Jenn Wear. In that series, her subscribers will tell her their fashion dilemma and she will try to solve them. Aside from fashion, she also had did some videos regarding her college life, travelling experience and her favourites for every month.

Lauren, Lindy and Jenn are some of my favourite YouTubers. There are still many channels that I love and have not gotten the chance to talk about it. I would like to change the perspective of other people that thought YouTube is not a good social network. As for me, I personally think that YouTube is a great platform for everyone to learn almost everything. But at the end of the day, everything depends on our own self. If we used YouTube for good purposes, we will get the benefits and vice versa. Everything really depends on ourself.

Review: Wreck This Journal

The other day, while I was scrolling through Pinterest, I stumbled upon some pins regarding a journal called Wreck This Journal. I was quite interested with that journal and start to do a mini research regarding it. I watched some videos on Youtube, Google about that journal and asked my friends about it. The more I knew, the more I am in love with this journal. As I am curious on how the journal will look like in real life, I decided to buy it at MPH Nu Sentral for RM 43.95. There are four different choices of cover for it which are the original black version, grey duct tape version, brown paper bag version and the red mesh version but I decided to go with the brown paper bag cover. Although there are different types of cover, the prompts provided in each book are actually the same. This issue had disappointed some of the buyers as they thought different types of cover has different prompts. I personally did not mind about the cover as the most important thing about that journal is its prompts.

The back cover of Wreck This Journal.
For people who wanted to start a journal or had faced problems and difficulties to finish their journal, Wreck This Journal is the best solution. It provides prompts that will help you in completing your journal. Besides, the subtitle of the journal which is 'to create is to destroy' clearly described that there is no limitation for this journal. One can create new things and also destroy at the same time. It does not matter if you make mistakes as you are supposed to "wreck" this journal. This journal is not only focusing on creative and artistic people but it also serves as a stress reliever. For example, there is a prompt that told you to fill in the pages when you are really angry. By doing this, you can express and release your angry thoughts and trust me, it will definitely make you feel better.

The prompt that told us to fill in the page only when we are really angry.
This multi purpose journal is created by a woman named Keri Smith. According to her website, she is a Canadian conceptual artist and author of several best selling books and apps about creativity including Wreck This Journal, This is Not a Book, Finish This Book and The Pocket Scavenger. Although she had created many books and I had heard quite a number of good reviews about them, I never had a chance to buy them. Wreck This Journal is the first book from Keri Smith's creation that I had bought. So far, I am quite impressed with the prompts given and also the quality of the book. The paper was thick enough to prevent bleeding caused by pens, water, crayons and paints used to wreck the journal.

In a nutshell, I am really loving this journal. The price is quite pricey but it is worth it. I would highly recommend you to buy and try this journal. By this journal, you can kill boredom, increase your creativity and encourage yourself to think outside the box. Up to today, I have completed some of the prompts given and I believe that I shall end this post by sharing some of them to you.

Prompt: A place for your grocery lists.

Prompt: Cover this page in tape. (Create some kind of pattern)

Prompt: Create a non-stop line.
